  • Not recommended for tie out use.

Collar Sizing

To get an accurately sized collar to fit your dog, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure or piece of string, a few inches down from their head. Pull the tape/string snug, but not tight. If you used a piece of string, measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Our metal buckle dog collars each have 4 sizing holes and are sized from the first hole to the last; the first hole is the smallest the collar will adjust down to, and the remaining holes allow the collar to widen for a comfort fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to process and ship my order?

Because each personalized item is custom-crafted just for your pet, please allow 2 business days for us to process, engrave, or embroider your order before it ships out.

Once your order is ready and leaves our facility, standard delivery times will apply based on the shipping method you select at checkout. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details as soon as your package is on its way!
What happens if I made a typo in my customization details?

Please email us immediately at orders@gotags.com with your Order Number and the corrected text.

Because our production team gets to work quickly on personalized items, we typically have a narrow window—less than 24 hours from when your order is placed—to update customization details before engraving or embroidery begins. While we can't guarantee changes after production has started, we'll do everything we can to catch it in time!
How do I properly measure my pet for this collar?

Getting an accurate measurement before ordering is essential, as personalized collars cannot be returned or resized if ordered in the wrong size.

Here is how to get the perfect fit:

  1. Use a Soft Tape Measure: Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base of your pet's neck where their collar normally rests. (If you don't have a soft tape, use a string and measure it against a standard ruler.)
  2. The Two-Finger Rule: Slip two fingers flat between the measuring tape and your pet's neck. This ensures the collar sits comfortably without being too tight or choking them.
  3. Compare to the Size Chart: Choose the collar size range where your pet’s measurement falls comfortably near the middle—not at the absolute smallest or largest setting.
Nylon & Hemp Collars: Are these collars machine washable?

Yes, they are machine washable!

  1. Remove all ID tags and attachments from the collar.
  2. Machine wash on a gentle or delicate cycle using cold or warm water with a mild detergent.
  3. Air dry only—do not place in the dryer, as high heat can damage the hardware and webbing.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Absolutely love the collar. The stores only sell the ones with the plastic clips and our dogs destroy those. Both the girls have had their new collars on for a couple weeks and they are holding up great. Highly recommend!!!

Collar

Collar is a little flimsy, not as thick as other nylon collars I've had. Runs alittle large, had to punch another hole.

Dog collar with metal buckle

It's fine...what I was expecting....I wanted a metal buckle as the.snap type of closures would get jammed and hard to open.

Exactly What I Have Been Looking For!

I just received my dog collar a day early. I would highly recommend this collar. It is of a nice weight, I would not want it any heavier. Both sides of the collar is very smooth. The buckle is very nice, the d-ring is very sturdy and the ends are welded where they meet. This is something you only find in high quality collars. I measured my dog's neck and went exactly as directed and it fits perfectly. Thank you, Go Tags

Wonderful customer service

We had to order two collars because the first (an orange one) was too big for our dog and the excess material bothered him so much, he chewed it off. We then ordered a smaller one in black, which fit great. There's no excess, and he's no longer at odds with his collar. GoTags has great customer service as well! :)

Good collar, no issues

Order arrived when it said it would, sizing is accurate. Nice collar. Had to look everywhere to find a traditional belt style collar instead of those flimsy snap kind. Good purchase.

Dog Collar with Metal Buckle

Some of us old folk have problems with those adjustable collars with plastic clips and I was thrilled to find these easy buckle collars. Purchased the pink and blue for our two puppies named Jake and Lucy. They are just about ready to wear them. So happy with the colors and the quality. Price was great and the shipping fast. Sure we will need to purchase larger sizes pretty soon considering how fast they are growing. Thank you very much. Dog Mom.

Stinky after getting wet

We love that you offer a metal buckle collar, as almost no one else sells these now. However, after getting damp in rain or in his doggie swimming pool, the collar stinks. Badly. Washing it in soap and water helps until the next time it gets damp, and then we're right back to being able to smell it from a couple feet away again. We've gone back to his ancient, faded collar again, which has never stunk.

Great metal buckle collars with a bit of give

I've tried to find a classic solid metal collar for my larger dog and they seem hard to find these days. This collar was perfect although I'd suggest sizing down if they recommend a larger size

Long and strong

This was a nice high quality collar that was long enough to fit my dog's neck (24-25") (Bernese mountain dog). It was actually too long but before I could punch an extra hole he had lost it in the woods. My fault.I will always buy my collars from these folks in the future. High quality, good price, hard to find sizes, free shipping, independent producer. What's not to like!
