Pull the tape/string snug, but not tight. If you used a piece of string, measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Your dog's measured neck size must fit within the collar's adjustable neck size range.

Dog Collar Size Guide
Proper collar fit is important for your dog's health and safety.
When fitting a dog collar it should not be loose enough to slip over the dog's head, nor so tight as to restrict breathing or cause coughing. If fitting for a puppy keep in mind that puppies grow quickly, so it is extremely important to adjust the size of their collars as they get bigger. Choosing an adjustable collar for puppies allows you to size the collar up as the dog grows, but depending upon the breed of the dog most puppies will likely grow to require a whole new collar size.
Measuring For Collar Fit
To get an accurately sized collar to fit your dog, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure or piece of string, a few inches down from their head. Pull the tape/string snug, but not tight. If you used a piece of string, measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards.
Fitting Adjustable Collars With Quick-Release Buckle
When purchasing an adjustable collar your dog's measured neck size must fit within the collar's adjustable length range. For instance, if your dog's neck measures 13 inches order an 11 - 16 inch adjustable collar.
| Size | Neck size range | Collar width |
|---|---|---|
| X-Small | 8 - 12 inches | 3/8 inch |
| Small | 11 - 16 inches | 5/8 inch |
| Medium | 14 - 20 inches | 3/4 inch |
| Large | 18 - 26 inches | 1 inch |
Fitting Collars With A Metal Buckle
When purchasing an open-end collar that closes similar to a belt, once you have a measurement of your dog's neck round the measurement down to the nearest even-sized number. For instance, if your pet's neck measures 19 inches (snugly) you would order the 18 - 21 inch collar.
Our metal buckle dog collars each have 4 sizing holes and are sized from the first hole to the last; the first hole is the smallest the collar will adjust down to, and the remaining holes allow the collar to widen for a comfort fit.
| Sizing hole | Fits neck size (snug) |
|---|---|
| 1st hole (smallest) | 18 inches |
| 2nd hole | 19 inches |
| 3rd hole | 20 inches |
| 4th hole (largest) | 21 inches |

The collar for OGI has Rough border and causes scratches.
It's very difficult to find smaller collars with appropriately sized buckles - many smaller collars come with buckles that are too big and heavy for toy breeds. This collar is well-made and perfectly sized (3/8" wide) for all of my small dogs with a lightweight but secure quick release buckle - it doesn't weigh a 4-lb puppy down with a buckle suited for a large dog like many collars I've purchased. Sure, there's a little bit of growing room in it, but not so much that it might slip over her head. The personalization makes it unnecessary for an ID tag. The reflective strip is an added bonus for night time walks. Ordered them for my other small dogs.
The collar itself is good quality. I thought the indentification would arrive embroidered; however, the identification arrived printed.
The collar is sturdy and the reflective portion is great, but the printed name and number are fading after just a few weeks.

Love these. My dogs are mostly black so the reflectiveness of the collars is a plus.
I had some trouble finding the correct sizes for my dog, and he is just out of the right range, but GoTags customer service was very helpful and accommodating. I appreciate their help.

The reflective strip is much wider and brilliant than any others that we’ve tried. These collars are well made and we’ve ordered our second set (we have 2 very active dogs - a Labrador and an Aussie).

This is a great collar for my little dog (15 lb). It is wonderfully reflective and his name and telephone number can easily be seen without picking him up. This accomplishes exactly what I was hoping for.
I love it and love how it glows in the dark.
This collar from GoTAGS arrived fairly quickly. I put it on our dog and tested it out that night. I wanted a reflective collar that really reflected the light. This collar was exceptional. The reflective strip seemed small on my little collar, but I could not have asked for a better reflection. Great product!
It is perfect size and I love that it is reflective.
Looks great on my dogs, love the reflective material. I don't have to worry about loosing tags anymore yaa!!!!!!!!
Excellent service, put wrong address and shipment got lost. They right away send me another and got package fast. Collars are perfect fit and just what expected
I have loved every purchase I have ever made with GoTags! They are the only ones that I will buy. This is my 5th or 6th purchase from them! Everything has always been perfect.
I feel so much better knowing that my dogs can be identified and we can be notified if they should become missing.
I love this collar. It is exactly as represented. Would definitely buy again
I’ve been using GoTags for many years, and I love every product I have ever received!
Awesome
Awedome
Love it! It’s the perfect size ! I didn’t want anything big. This is stream lined .. perfect for my little guy
Our collars are perfect. The dogs are very comfortable for them
Go tags are great, very reflective, long lasting. My only complaint on this particular style is the minimal options for colors, and it seems to be itchy when new. Will continue to buy them!
