Collar Sizing:
To get an accurately sized collar to fit your dog, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure or piece of string, a few inches down from their head. Pull the tape/string snug, but not tight. If you used a piece of string, measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Your dog's measured neck size must fit within the collar's adjustable neck size range.

Proper collar fit is important for your dog's health and safety.
When fitting a dog collar it should not be loose enough to slip over the dog's head, nor so tight as to restrict breathing or cause coughing. If fitting for a puppy keep in mind that puppies grow quickly, so it is extremely important to adjust the size of their collars as they get bigger. Choosing an adjustable collar for puppies allows you to size the collar up as the dog grows, but depending upon the breed of the dog most puppies will likely grow to require a whole new collar size.

Fitting Collars With A Metal Buckle
When purchasing an open-end collar that closes similar to a belt, once you have a measurement of your dog's neck round the measurement down to the nearest even-sized number. For instance, if your pet's neck measures 19 inches (snugly) you would order the 18 - 21 inch collar.
Our metal buckle dog collars each have 4 sizing holes and are sized from the first hole to the last; the first hole is the smallest the collar will adjust down to, and the remaining holes allow the collar to widen for a comfort fit.

i have a small dog and after adjusting collar the street name is cover up with the buckle. if you would have started letting at opposite end of adjustment all the letter would have been seen

Ordered the first collar for our dog Brody in March 2026. We've been through many different brands and my husband immediately said that this was the best one we've ever had. We especially like that it is easy to see his name and number in case he gets out and is picked up by someone else. Old tags would frequently rub off but this collar stands out and is extremely well made. We ordered a second collar when we adopted Millie and I made a mistake on the order (forgot the phone number). I contacted the company and verified that I'd let it off the order but then they insisted on making a new collar at no charge even though I admitted to my mistake. I insisted on paying for the new one and they refused. Wow - I am not used to such customer service! So we are now life long customers but these collars are so well made that I don't think I'll need to order anything soon. So they had me with a quality product but they now have me forever due to their customer service!

The collar was well made but unfortunately the personalization was partially covered when the collar was adjusted. I purchased the size based on the dog's size and your recommendation but it had to still be adjusted a good amount and subsequently covered some of the embroidery.
