Our custom engraved medical ID necklace  tags are easily recognized by emergency responders. Wearing medical alert ID tags offer peace of mind for diabetics, people with allergies and other conditions, and can save a life. Choose from 8 tag colors, and 2 tag sizes, with up to 4 lines of personalized information engraved on tag backside.

If a purchase fails to meet your expectations within 60 days of its delivery, we will gladly exchange or refund the item, at no additional cost, once it has been returned to us. Bulk and large volume orders are subject to a 30% restocking fee for returns.

How long does it take to process and ship my order?

Because each personalized item is custom-crafted just for your pet, please allow 2 business days for us to process, engrave, or embroider your order before it ships out.

Once your order is ready and leaves our facility, standard delivery times will apply based on the shipping method you select at checkout. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details as soon as your package is on its way!
What happens if I made a typo in my customization details?

Please email us immediately at orders@gotags.com with your Order Number and the corrected text.

Because our production team gets to work quickly on personalized items, we typically have a narrow window—less than 24 hours from when your order is placed—to update customization details before engraving or embroidery begins. While we can't guarantee changes after production has started, we'll do everything we can to catch it in time!
How many lines of text and characters can fit on this tag?

The physical surface area of the tag stays the same, so the more lines or characters you add, the smaller the font will be. To keep your pet's tag as easy to read as possible from a distance, we recommend prioritizing essential info (like your pet’s name and primary phone numbers).
Is the engraving laser-etched or surface printed? Will it fade over time?

Our pet tags feature permanent, high-precision laser engraving—never surface printing or painted text that can rub off or peel away over time.

The laser etches into the surface material to produce crisp, high-contrast text designed for maximum readability. The green Medical Alert ID Tag arrived on 06/25/2026. I had purchased it for my sister. Although the information was printed correctly on the tag, the reverse side did not have the medical alert symbol. That side was just plain, so I was rather disappointed. I had previously purchased two tags for myself. Each of those tags had the medical alert symbol on them.

I like my current medic alert now that I have the correct information on them.

I ordered a pair last year but my information changed so I needed a new pair. When I ordered them right after Christmas they came in with the correct information on the front but the back said service dog. I re-ordered them with medic alert on the back.

They came rather quickly and were relatively inexpensive. I like my new ones. Do not know if the mix up was GoTags fault or mine.
